I'm working on the 2007 calendar for the Monastery of the Holy Spirit near my home. I drove out the other morning to meet with my monk-buddy, and it was a clear morning after a night of thunderstorms. There was a slight mist, and sun rays were streaming through the old magnolias that line the 1/4-mile entry way. I got on my cell phone and told my monk friend to get another monk down there as soon as possible for a rare photo op. While we were setting up the shot, one of the ladies who volunteers in the Abbey Store came in for work, so we added her, to appear as a retreatant seeking counsel from the monk. I was pretty pleased with the results...
True confession time (that's what I get for hanging out with a bunch of Catholics): By the time the monks showed up, the rays weren't as dramatic, so I plopped the monk and the lady into one of the shots that I took when I first got there...

Nice shot, I like how you framed them with the trees. And the colors are wonderful, dreamy.

Of the dead, speak nothing but good.
Fall is definitely one of the best times of the year to get out and walk. Have one on me!
